PR Team Responsibilities

  • Promoting Girl Guides in Alberta, NWT and Yukon
  • Sending PSAs to the media – including print, voice and visual media for cookies, registration, awards, camps and many other exciting Girl Guiding activities that should be in the public eye
  • Creating a positive relationship and keeping in contact with media outlets and personnel to showcase Girl Guiding and to recruit and retain members
  • Following up on media sent by National office.

As a PR Team we assist Area PR Advisers with writing PSAs, promoting the benefits of belonging, encouraging them to work closely with the area membership adviser for promotion of registration events and to work in conjunction with their Area teams to promote all activities in the Area.

Web Coordinator

Maintains the Alberta Provincial Council website, and assists Areas to either construct their own websites or to maintain a website on the server.

Blue Print (Provincial Newsletter) Editor

The Blue Print Editor is available to assist Areas with the proper use of the GGC logo, to edit publications, to help with newsletters and to review all documents for Guide Style.
