Brownie Baking Enrollment
This is an idea that we tried last year for Enrollment.
-
we used an oven box that one of our leaders brought home from The Bay. We
painted it brown, cut an "oven door" in the front, added tin foil
for the "burners" and for the "dials".
-
In the "oven door" we put clear cellophane.
-
In the back of the box we cut an opening for the girls.
-
We lined all of the girls to be enrolled behind the box and we left the
second year girls out in the front.
-
As each circle was called up, the second year girls (who had brought
aprons, wooden spoons, measuring cups, plastic bowls and baking dishes) were
standing around making "Brownies".
-
The leaders would ask them what they were making.
-
They replied "Brownies".
-
The leaders would ask what they were going to have to add to make them and
they told them the ingredients. Then when everything was added, they were
told to put their "Brownies" in the oven but to be careful not to
burn themselves.
-
One of the leaders was behind the box pulling out the baking bowls and
sending the girls into the oven.
-
Then one of the leaders would tell them to go and get their brownies out
of the oven.
-
When they would open the door, the Brownies would come out and they would
become enrolled into the Brownie unit.
The parents really thought that this was cute and we felt it was great to do
something new.
