Bright Ideas - Camp and Sleepovers
Drive-in movie sleepoverWe got the Sparks and Pathfinders together for a Drive-In movie sleepover. To start the evening off all the Sparks made themselves a car out of cardboard boxes, with the help of the leaders and Pathfinders. While we set up for the movie, they "drove" their cars around the hall while being kept in line by a "Traffic Cop". When the girls were caught disobeying traffic laws, they were fined a penny or two (such things as driving too close; someone in the back seat; and many other silly things). The Sparks also used pennies to vote for the movie to be watched. A selection of movies was laid out, each with a container. You dropped your penny into the movie you wanted to see and the movie with the most pennies won. All the pennies were donated to the CWFF. When the movie was scheduled to start, the cars lined up at the entrance, which was set out with orange traffic cones, and our traffic cop directed everyone through the gates. Movie snacks consisted of popcorn and licorice (movie staples) and juice. The next morning, the Pathfinders made us all a pancake breakfast and then we went out and did some snowshoeing. Everyone had a WONDERFUL time.
